Nils Kavanagh Trio album launch at Calstock Arts

Nils Kavanagh, winner of Young Irish Jazz Musician of the Year 2022 and BBC Young Jazz Musician finalist in 2024, performs at Calstock Arts to celebrate the release of his debut album "No Expectations". The music draws on his upbringing in north-west Ireland — its landscapes, folk traditions, and mythology — woven together with the quieter introspection he found in Scandinavia. Expect themes of home, family, loss, and longing, all anchored by Kavanagh's distinctive compositional voice and a fearless approach to improvisation. He's joined by Sam Green on drums and Ursula Harrison on bass for what promises to be an intimate and searching evening of jazz.
