The Big Rock Pool Challenge returns to Porthpean for a full 24 hours of wildlife recording and celebration of Cornwall's coastal biodiversity. Running from Saturday 29 to Sunday 30 August 2026, the event brings together nature enthusiasts, families, and curious minds to explore and document the creatures that live in our rock pools. Whether you're a seasoned naturalist or just keen to learn more about what's lurking in the shallows, there's a place for you. It's a community effort — the more eyes on the pools, the better the picture of our local marine life. Best of all, it's completely free to join.
