An Dannsa Dub: Gaelic dub at Porthtowan
An Dannsa Dub, led by Tom Spirals and Euan McLaughlin, play Mount Pleasant Eco Park on Friday 6 November. The band weave Gaelic song and traditional Scottish instruments into dub rhythms and basslines, and have twice been nominated for Live Act of the Year at the Scots Trad Awards. Their debut album 'Air An Turas' was followed by 'Through The Storm', co-produced by dub producer Gaudi and mixed by Paolo Baldini Dubfiles, with contributions from Junior Dread, Josie Duncan, corto.alto and Rachel Newton. The band have played Glastonbury, Celtic Connections, Dubcamp in France and Goa Sunsplash in India, and received BBC airplay from Don Letts, Craig Charles and Tom Robinson. Live, the set features fiddle, flute, Gaelic vocals and a rhythm section. Bar and food open at 6pm, with live music from 7.30pm until 1am. Tickets are £12 early bird, £14 advance online, or £16 on the door. Over 18s only. Van parking in the car park is available for £10 with a gig ticket.
