Arty Afternoons: Geometrical Abstract Art at Penlee House
Every Saturday afternoon in September, Penlee House Gallery and Museum in Penzance opens its doors for free, drop-in art activities aimed at families with children. This week's session takes its cue from Sikar II by Gillian Ayres — a vivid, shape-filled painting currently on show in the Making Her Mark exhibition. Children will look closely at the work, choose their own arrangement of geometric shapes, and build a composition using bold, bright colours. No booking is needed; just turn up any time between 2:30 and 3:30 pm. It's a relaxed, creative hour that makes a gallery visit feel like an adventure.
