BD BodyGuard T Syringe Pump Training
Cornwall Hospice Care is running this face-to-face training session on the BD BodyGuard T Syringe Pump — for subcutaneous use on adults — at St Julia's Hospice in Hayle on Tuesday 17 November, 9 AM to 12 PM. It is open to Registered Nurses, whether attending as first-time users or for an annual update. The cost is £60. The session covers both theory and practical elements. Theory covers clinical governance, duties and responsibilities, indications for use, preparation, record keeping, and troubleshooting. The practical element involves simulation and assessment in the first-time set-up of the syringe pump, change of prescription, and replacement syringes. Participants are asked to complete pre-course reading on the Local Policy and Procedure for the use of the BD BodyGuard Syringe Pump before attending. The training counts as three hours towards Continuing Professional Development as required by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. A certificate is awarded on successful completion of the simulated practical assessment and accurate completion of the Learning Checklist. Refunds are available up to seven days before the event.
