Block Print and Goldwork Workshop, Bodmin
This all-day workshop at Patchwork Dreamer's upstairs studio in Bodmin brings together two distinct crafts: block printing using hand-carved wooden blocks, and traditional goldwork embroidery. The session runs from 10:30am to 4:00pm on Saturday 17 October 2026. Tutor Maria Maidment guides you through creating your own printed fabric design before adding detail with goldwork techniques including passing thread, vermicelli stitch, wire work and spangles. The designs draw on Celtic influences, with that understated shimmer that goldwork produces. No prior experience is needed — Maria demonstrates each step before you try it yourself. All materials are provided, including fabric, inks and threads. Spaces are limited to keep the atmosphere relaxed, so booking in advance is essential.
