Budapest Café Orchestra at Calstock Arts
Christian Garrick founded the Budapest Café Orchestra in 2009 with the aim of presenting music from across the world in an entertaining way. The four-piece features Garrick on violin and darbuka, Marcus Tilt on accordion, Kelly Cantlon on double bass, and Adrian Zolotuhin on guitar, saz, balalaika, and domra. The group performs entirely from memory, and describe their approach as combining wit and charm. They play around 75 shows a year and are frequent guests on BBC Radio 3's In Tune. BCO have recorded an album a year since their founding; their sixteenth, Goulash Supernova, came out in January 2025. Tickets are £18–£20.
