"Missionaries, Mercenaries and Misfits" at Calstock Arts
Glen Morris brings years of Arctic travel to Calstock Arts with this illustrated talk about the far north — its people, wildlife, and the serious environmental threats it faces. Having lived with the Inuit of Northern Greenland and Arctic Canada, Glen offers a firsthand perspective on indigenous cultures and what they can teach us about our connection to the natural world. The talk also explores how western colonialism has shaped both the Arctic and our own lives, and what that means going forward. Glen conceived the Arctic Voice project, an initiative linking young people across the Arctic with children in the UK. An evening of thoughtful armchair travel with real substance behind it.
