Summerland at Golant Film Club

The Golant Film Club presents Summerland, a wartime drama screening at C Fylm in Calstock. During the Second World War, a reclusive writer named Alice has her carefully sequestered life upended when Frank, a young evacuee from the London Blitz, is unexpectedly placed in her care. Though she initially resolves to send him away, she gradually finds her emotions and her capacity for connection reawakened by his presence. It's a quietly moving story about companionship arriving when we least expect it — a lovely choice for a Friday evening with the local film club.
