Common Threads at Café Momus, Torpoint
Common Threads is a relaxed Sunday afternoon gathering at Café Momus in Torpoint, running from 3pm to 6pm. The session brings together live music and hands-on participation in a drop-in format — no experience needed. The centrepiece is a drum circle led by Baboucar, a master of the bougarbu drums from Senegal, who shares both his music and his story. Alongside him, Patrice Naiambana plays bamboo sax, Jago Stone is on jazz piano, and Barry Cohen brings the double bass. Whether you come to listen or to play, it's an easy, welcoming afternoon — the kind of thing Café Momus does well.
