Cornish Folklore Half Term at Liskeard Museum
Liskeard Museum is marking October half term with a programme rooted in Cornish myths and legends. A free family trail runs from 16th October, alongside self-led activities in the Daniel Gumb room — no booking needed, just drop in. From 21st October, four themed session days run across the week, each costing £2 per child. Topics include Cornish witches, the underground knockers of the tin mines, the Green Man, and Allantide — an old Cornish apple festival largely forgotten today. Sessions involve making something to take home: a clay witch's hat, a miner's lantern, a green man face, or an apple print wall hanging. Most sessions suit ages 7 and up, with a couple open from age 5. Numbers are capped at ten children per session, so booking ahead through the museum's website is recommended.
