Dale Storr: The Sounds of New Orleans at Calstock Arts
Dale Storr is a pianist described by Jazz Journal magazine as the "piano man's piano man" and "a national treasure", and recognised as one of the UK's leading exponents of New Orleans piano. His latest show is a celebration of the music of New Orleans legends Dr John and James Carroll Booker, two of his biggest musical influences. The show incorporates piano playing and storytelling, drawing on what the source describes as the rich history behind the music and the stories of his piano heroes. Storr has opened the Buxton International Jazz Festival, released three solo albums, and his music has been played on BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 6, and BBC Radio 3. Tickets are £15 in advance, £18 on the door, with a £2 reduction for Friends of Calstock Arts.
