Diatom Project introduction session, St Stephen
This free introductory session is a chance to get involved in a new citizen-science project focused on the River Fal. You'll learn how to sample diatoms — microscopic algae found in rivers and streams — using a method being piloted for the first time. Diatoms are sensitive indicators of water quality, and the data gathered by community volunteers can build a clearer picture of the river's health over time. The session takes place at St Stephen Community Centre Social Club on Tuesday 15 September at 5pm. It's open to anyone curious about local waterways, whatever your scientific background.
