English Touring Opera: Tosca at Hall for Cornwall
English Touring Opera brings Puccini's Tosca to Hall for Cornwall on Wednesday 12 May 2027, curtain up at 7:30 pm. One of opera's most intensely dramatic works, Tosca follows a passionate singer, her painter lover, and the corrupt chief of police who threatens to destroy them both. English Touring Opera takes professional opera to theatres across the country, and this visit to Truro offers a chance to see the full production without travelling to a major city. A good choice for opera regulars and curious newcomers alike — the combination of Puccini's sweeping score and the story's taut, three-act plot makes Tosca one of the more accessible works in the repertoire.
