The Pirates of Penzance – Open-Air in Bude

Illyria's production of Gilbert & Sullivan's much-loved comic opera comes to the grounds of Ebbingford Manor in Bude. Young Frederick, apprenticed to the pirates since childhood, discovers he is bound to serve until his eighties — with only the hapless Penzance constabulary standing between him and a life of crime. Packed with memorable songs including 'To Be a Pirate King!', 'Modern Major General' and 'A Policeman's Lot is Not a Happy One', this is a fresh, witty staging of a genuine classic. Bring your own seating or blankets and arrive in good time for the 6.30pm start. Suitable for ages five and over, with refreshments available on site.
