Guy Davis live at The Acorn, Penzance
Guy Davis is a multi-instrumentalist, actor, author and songwriter — a two-time, back-to-back Grammy nominee for Best Traditional Blues. He draws on Roots, Blues, Folk, Rock, Rap, Spoken Word and World Music to address social injustice, historical events and common life struggles, with a storytelling style shaped by his background in theatre. He plays six and twelve string guitar, five string banjo, harmonica and didgeridoo, and has performed alongside Pete Seeger, Bruce Springsteen, Dr John, Taj Mahal and Joss Stone, opening for Chuck Berry, Joan Armatrading and BB King. His shows feature a mixture of original material and classic cover songs.
