Heritage Open Days at Cotehele

Heritage Open Days at Cotehele

🗓Mon 14 Sep 2026
Free

Every September, Heritage Open Days gives people across England the chance to explore historic buildings and places that are often closed to the public or usually charge for entry. This year, Cotehele — the remarkably well-preserved Tudor estate set above the Tamar Valley near Saltash — is taking part, with free admission on the day. Cotehele is one of the least-altered medieval houses in the country, with tapestry-hung rooms, a working watermill, and terraced gardens that step down toward the river. It is a rare opportunity to visit at no cost. Whether you are a history enthusiast, a National Trust regular, or simply curious about one of Cornwall's finest old estates, this is a relaxed and rewarding way to spend a Monday in September.
