Joanne Coates: Cornish Gold at Kestle Barton

🗓Sat 12 Sep 2026 · 2:00 PM
📍Kestle Barton, Helston

Photographer Joanne Coates spent a year in residence on the Lizard Peninsula, embedding herself with the families and workers who tend Cornwall's famous daffodil fields. The result is a body of portraiture that puts faces to the seasonal labour behind those roadside bunches. Cornish Gold is on show at Kestle Barton, the rural arts centre near Helston that sits at the heart of the Lizard landscape Coates spent her residency exploring. Whether you know the flower farms well or are discovering them for the first time, this exhibition offers an quietly affecting look at a corner of Cornish life that often goes unseen.
