Rock Glazes with Matthew Blakely at the Leach Pottery
Matthew Blakely leads this five-day practice-based throwing course at the Leach Pottery in St Ives, running Monday 9 to Friday 13 November 2026. It is aimed at people who want to challenge and develop their knowledge and skills with ceramic materials. The course takes a crash-course approach to geology for potters, exploring the characters and possibilities of different rocks and how to test them for use in glazes. Matt's position is that any rock can potentially be useful in a glaze.
