Learn the Basics of Crochet at Trebah Garden

This four-hour workshop is run by Trebah Garden on Sunday 22 November, from 10am to 2pm. It is aimed at complete beginners who have wanted to try crochet but felt unsure where to start. The session covers how to hold the yarn, how to use the hooks, how to read a pattern, and how to make chains and basic stitches. By the end you will have made your own handmade decoration, inspired by Trebah's 2026 Christmas display. All materials are provided. The workshop is recommended for ages 16 and over. It takes place in the Exhibition space in the Visitor Centre — please enter via the Visitor Centre on arrival. Trebah Kitchen will be open during the event. Garden entry is not included; non-members who wish to explore the garden before or after will need to purchase a separate entry ticket. Assistance dogs only. Refunds must be requested at least 48 hours before the event starts.
