Jungle Garden Tour at Heligan

Heligan's Jungle is one of Cornwall's most atmospheric garden spaces, and this guided tour puts you in the company of one of the people who tends it. On foot along raised boardwalks and pond paths, you'll move among giant gunnera, prehistoric tree ferns and towering redwoods — some of the ferns standing four metres tall after more than a century of growth in this once-forgotten corner of the estate. Your guide will share the history behind significant specimens and stories of the Victorian plant hunters who shaped the collection, along with some of its most notable recent additions. A good fit for garden enthusiasts, history buffs, or anyone who simply wants to see Heligan through different eyes. The tour meets at The Garden near Saint Austell on Thursday 17 September at 2:00 pm.
