Parents swim and sauna session at Jubilee Pool
Every Wednesday in September, Jubilee Pool in Penzance hosts a two-hour session for parents of babies aged 0 to 18 months. Coordinated by a local mum, the format is simple: everyone stays for the full two hours and takes turns to enjoy a 30-minute cold-water swim and sauna slot while the rest of the group looks after the babies together. It's a chance to meet other new parents, get some time in the water, and benefit from the well-documented mood boost that cold-water swimming brings — all with the lido's poolside or cafe as a backdrop depending on the weather. Sessions run with a minimum of three people, costs £7.50 (covering main pool and sauna entry, not the geothermal pool), and are organised on a volunteer basis with the lido's support. If you can't make it, let the organiser know by 9am on the day so sauna slots can be released to others.
