Pursuit Series at Flushing Sailing Club
Flushing Sailing Club opens its pursuit series on Sunday 4 April with the first of four races. In a pursuit race, boats set off at staggered intervals according to handicap, with the aim of all converging at the finish at the same time — so the leader at the end of the course is the outright winner. It's a format well suited to mixed fleets, where different classes of boat can race on equal terms. Flushing sits on the Penryn River estuary, and the club has a sheltered stretch of tidal water for racing right on the village doorstep.
