On This Dark Night: Songs for the Season

Suthering — the queer folk duo of Julu Irvine and Heg Brignall — have built a devoted following through years of touring and sold-out shows, and this winter evening at Calstock Arts promises everything that makes them such a compelling live act: soaring vocal harmonies, pin-drop a cappella moments, and an emotionally honest songwriting voice that moves between politics, mental health and personal testimony. Their 2024 album Leave A Light On, produced by Sean Lakeman, pushed their sound into pop and indie territory while keeping their folk roots intact.
