Pendeen Walk and Talk — Bronze Age to Mining Heritage

Pendeen Walk and Talk — Bronze Age to Mining Heritage

🗓Sat 19 Sep 2026 · 10:00 AM
📍Kresen Kernow, Redruth

Join archaeoastronomer Carolyn Kennett and history and folklore enthusiast Elizabeth Dale for a guided walk through the World Heritage Site landscape around Pendeen, in the parish of St Just. The route takes in Carn Eanes, Trewellard Common, and Carn Kenidjack — a few miles that span thousands of years of Cornish history. Along the way, expect to encounter Bronze Age monuments, traces of the mining era, and the folktales woven into this corner of west Penwith. The walk runs from 10am to 1pm on Saturday 19 September and is part of the Mapping the Past for the Future project. This is a moderate walk of around three miles with uneven ground, hills, stiles, and a short road section — not suitable for young children. Places are limited, so booking is essential.
