Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo
Private Peaceful is a one-person show adapted and directed by Simon Reade from Michael Morpurgo's story of Tommo Peaceful. On the eve of battle, Tommo looks back over the events that shaped his life: his family, a first love, and the bond with his brother that carries him through the horrors of war. A single actor voices the full cast of characters and conjures the landscapes and emotions of the story. Benjamin Cain, a recent graduate of the BA Professional Acting course at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, takes on the solo role of Tommo Peaceful in his professional debut. The performance is at Hall for Cornwall, Truro, on Tuesday 6 October 2026 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are £15–£25.
