Samba Touré plays Ali Farka Touré at the Cornish Bank
Twenty years on from the death of Ali Farka Touré, his protégé Samba Touré comes to the Cornish Bank in Falmouth to celebrate the man who shaped him. Ali Farka gifted Samba his first guitar and guided him toward the traditional Songhoy music of Northern Mali — a path that led to Samba's debut album Fondo and wide recognition across West Africa. Expect hypnotic guitar grooves steeped in the rhythms and spirit of the Saharan north, performed in the intimate setting of one of Falmouth's best-loved venues. A fitting tribute to one of Africa's most influential musicians, and a rare chance to hear this music live in Cornwall.
