SHARP & Alice Mahoney at Newlyn Art Gallery
SHARP and Alice Mahoney open a joint exhibition at Newlyn Art Gallery on 12 September, running through to 31 October in The Picture Room. Their work spans photography, sound, print and sculpture, drawing on themes of identity, landscape, material and the body. Expect a thoughtful range of media that rewards time and attention — the kind of show that reveals more on a second visit than a first. The setting at Newlyn, with its long connection to artists working close to the Cornish landscape, feels well suited to this sort of inward, questioning work. The exhibition is free to enter and open to all. If you want to see it before the doors officially open and meet the artists in person, there is a preview evening on Friday 11 September from 4 to 6pm — wine included.
