Property Maintenance Skills Bootcamp, Truro
Truro and Penwith College is running this ten-week Skills Bootcamp in Property Maintenance, with an introductory session on Monday 9 November 2026 (9am–4pm) and the full course running through to 1 February 2027. It is open to adult learners aged 19 and over and is designed to help people develop their career or business in the construction and property maintenance sectors, or to prepare for further study or an apprenticeship. The introductory session gives you the chance to meet the expert lecturer in construction, take part in activities to better understand the course content and study requirements, and have an open conversation about your career aspirations and any support or accessibility needs. Across the college-based teaching days, specialist tutors cover responsibilities within property maintenance, health and welfare in the workplace, general carpentry (including timber stud walls, window repairs, fitting internal doors and door linings, skirtings, architraves and patchwork repairs, and ironmongery), plaster boarding and skimming, an introduction to plumbing and electrics, and wall and floor tiling. Learners also have access to industry experts and local employers. Thanks to funding from the Department for Education, there is no charge for individuals looking to retrain or upskill. SME employers enrolling a member of staff contribute 10% of the course fee (£257); large organisations are asked to contribute 30% (£771).
