St Erme Scarecrow Competition

St Erme's scarecrow competition returns for its fourth year, running from 26 October to 1 November 2026. Pick up a trail map from Trispen Stores or the Community Centre, walk the village, and cast your vote for the best scarecrow by dropping your ballot back at either location. Entry costs £2, and every penny raised goes towards the village Christmas Lights Fund — so taking part supports the community directly. It's a great excuse to explore the village with children, and if you fancy entering your own creation, get in touch with Jake by email or Emma Dungate on Facebook to sign up as a scarecrow maker.
