Newlyn School paintings at Penlee House
Penlee House Gallery & Museum in Penzance opens a new exhibition of Newlyn School works drawn from the Bowerman Collection on 7 October 2026, running through to 9 January 2027. The Newlyn School flourished in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, when artists were drawn to west Cornwall by the quality of the light and the character of its fishing communities. Works on show include Frank Bramley's Eyes and No Eyes. Admission is at half price during the transitional period before the full exhibition opens. A good option for anyone with an interest in Cornish art history or British painting of the period.
