The Beat featuring Ranking Jnr live in Penzance
One of the great bands of the British ska movement, The Beat helped define the sound of the early 1980s by weaving together reggae, soul, pop and punk into something entirely their own. Alongside The Specials and Madness, they scored a string of hits that still feel as immediate today as they did four decades ago. Expect a set packed with classics: "Mirror in the Bathroom", "Save It for Later", "Hands Off... She's Mine", "Stand Down Margaret" and more, performed by the current lineup featuring Ranking Jnr. The band are marking thirty years of the B.P.M. era with a full UK tour. The Acorn in Penzance is an intimate venue, so this is a chance to hear those anthems up close.
