Gull Rock Manacles Race
Flushing Sailing Club runs this race out into the open waters south of Falmouth, following a course that takes competitors past Gull Rock and around the Manacles — the reef system extending off the eastern Lizard Peninsula. Held on Bank Holiday Monday in May, it offers a proper offshore challenge for those sailing out of Flushing. The course uses Gull Rock and the Manacles as its key waypoints, drawing a route through some of Cornwall's more open coastal waters south of the Fal estuary.
