The Hopening Ceremony at Blisland Village Hall
The Bodminarty — Bodmin's newest amdram group — are taking their Hopening Ceremony on the road, and Blisland is next. Rooted in music hall and concert party traditions and filtered through the chaos of British sketch comedy, this is a show that gleefully defies easy description. Expect singing, dancing, comedy sketches, circus acts that never quite made it to the circus, and plenty of Cornish in-jokes — all accompanied by resident pianist Marc Jenyon. Elements of the show are tweaked for each venue, so this is a one-off experience rather than a touring package. Doors open at 6:45pm for the Hopening Fete, with the show starting at 7:30pm. Running around two hours fifteen minutes with an interval, it's recommended for ages 10 and up, with some adult humour.
