A council worker arrives on a remote Scottish island with orders to evict two siblings who have lived there in near-total isolation — hunting seabirds, keeping ancestral stories alive, and repelling any outsider who dares approach. Isla and Sandy's initial response to Daniel is, to put it mildly, physical. But over several days and one memorable initiation ritual, the three slowly begin to lower their guard. Directed by Louis Paxton, the film uses the comic friction between island life and mainland assumptions to say something genuinely moving about loneliness and connection.
