Watercolour Club — Autumn Series
The Watercolour Club runs on Wednesday mornings, 9:30 to 12:00, at the Cornish Craft Barn in Blackwater. Three sessions remain in this series — 7, 14 and 21 October — open to beginners and improvers together. Joining now costs £90 for the three sessions (£30 each, paid as one). There are eight seats. Each session introduces a new technique or mark-making skill, with a sample piece to use it on — some finished in the room, others a starting point to continue between Wednesdays. Across the series the ground covered includes atmospheric landscapes, sunlight and shadows, sea, rivers and harbours, trees, watercolour portraiture, mark making and textures, composition, perspective, urban ink and wash, sketching, travel journalling, and solutions to common watercolour problems. A short materials list is sent before you start; a starter kit is available at cost if you would rather not buy your own yet. Each week there is a one-page recap with demonstration photos, and the group keeps a shared album. Paintings are yours to take home and carry on with between sessions. Participants in this series receive first refusal on Series 2 — six Wednesdays from 4 November to 9 December at £180 — before it goes public.
