Life drawing with Emily Chung: Colours
Session five of Emily Chung's six-week life drawing series focuses on the theme of colours. The class runs from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday 8 October at Devonport Guildhall (previously Ocean Studios) in Plymouth. The series is described as open to beginners and those new to figure drawing, as well as anyone looking to develop their practice. No prior experience is needed. Each session takes a different theme — earlier weeks covered form and lines, learning how to look, experimental drawings, and tones and erasure; the final session moves on to portraiture. Lessons include guided exercises, structured lessons, and creative experimentation. Emily Chung is a practicing artist working across drawing, painting, and performance. She holds an MLitt in Drawing, Painting and Printmaking from the Glasgow School of Art and a Graduate Diploma in Art from Goldsmiths, University of London. Her practice explores themes of work and the everyday, and she has exhibited across the UK. She has recently completed residencies at Ocean Studios and KARST X CAMP X AUP. The classes are for those aged 18 and over.
