Wood Type Wednesday letterpress printing session
Wood Type Wednesday is an informal, hands-on letterpress printing session held at Devonport Guildhall in Torpoint, led by resident printer and researcher Matt Holmes. Taking place on Wednesday 14 October at 6pm, the evening gives you time to explore traditional techniques using historic wood and metal type in a relaxed studio setting. During the session you'll set type, operate presses, and print your own posters and typographic experiments, with guidance from Matt throughout. There's space to ask questions, try things out, and swap ideas with fellow participants. Open to adults aged 18 and over, no previous experience is required — beginners are just as welcome as those who've already spent time at a press. Graphic designers, artists, printmakers, and anyone who enjoys working with their hands should feel at home.
